Space Research Organisation Netherlands is the Dutch expertise institute for space research. Since 1961 we lead – and we have contributed to - the development and realisation of international space based scientific instruments. These are missions with agencies like NASA, ESA and JAXA. To address unanswered scientific questions in these communities, we develop technology, instrument concepts and eventually instruments. The scientific objectives of these missions are determined by the scientific community and enjoy broad support. SRON builds on a long history within the national and international scientific communities in the fields of astrophysics, Earth observation and technology development. Necessary specialist expertise is brought together under one roof at SRON. Furthermore, we have built up long-standing partnerships with knowledge partners and industry partners. SRON is part of NWO-I, the Institutes Organisation of NWO (the Dutch Research Council).
